After the overwhelming response to the teaser, Kaiya
now prepares for her first release of 2022
"Surrender". The track was inspired by a dull moment,
Kaiya explains - "I wanted to write something that'd
do good for me if it were stuck in my head".

Surrender comes as the first single of Kaiya's
upcoming debut EP, Affirm. A project highlighting the
power of words and thought, combining mindful
affirmations with catchy soulful hooks, beats and
verses. Kaiya's intention was to create music you'd
listen to regardless of the affirmations, "they're
lyrics to soothe the mind but it's also just good
music" says Kaiya.

In 'Surrender" the hook poses as the "affirmation"
section of the track while the verse journeys us on a
deep dive into the experiences that brought the track
about.

Kaiya concludes "This will resonate with different
people for different reasons and in different ways at
different stages of our lives. My friends and I were
singing "Surrender" at the club while another friend
said it's what got her through her recent breakup."

While there are already talks of a vol.2 of affirm
already in the works, we look forward to hearing the
first full EP soon.
